We are thrilled to announce that PFL has been honored with the prestigious Safety Excellence Award from BP for Safe Contributions and Partnership! This remarkable achievement showcases our unwavering commitment to safety, highlighting our dedication to creating a secure work environment and fostering a culture of collaboration and partnership.
At PFL, we believe that safety is not just a priority, but an inherent value that guides every aspect of our operations. We are proud to be recognized by BP, one of the world’s leading energy companies, for our outstanding safety practices and our collaborative approach to maintaining a secure workplace.
Receiving the Safety Excellence Award from BP is a testament to the hard work and diligence of our entire team. Each member of the PFL team has contributed to this accomplishment, and we are extremely proud of all our employees who consistently prioritize safety in their daily activities.
Moreover, this recognition would not have been possible without the invaluable partnership and collaboration we have with BP. We are grateful for the opportunity to work alongside such a reputable organization that shares our commitment to safety and operational excellence. Together, we have achieved significant milestones and set new industry standards.
PFL was tasked with loading off-spec Natural Gasoline from pressure cars that were previously loaded with propane and or butane into regular liquid trucks. Because the railcars last contained LPGs, they had higher pressure than is typical for Natural Gasoline (between 40 and 120 pounds of pressure). Since liquid trucks can only withstand a maximum of a few pounds of pressure, PFL had to get creative.
PFL will continue to invest in innovative technologies, provide ongoing training and support, and foster a culture of open communication to sustain our excellent safety record.
Once again, we extend our sincere thanks to the entire PFL team and our valued partners at BP for their unwavering commitment to safety. This award is a shared success, and it inspires us to strive for even greater heights in the pursuit of safety excellence.

]]>The post Retail Sales Declined 1.9% in December appeared first on PFL Petroleum Services LTD.
]]>Talking Points
Retail sales was projected to fall by -0.1% by the Dow Jones, however with the surging Omicron Sars-Cov-19 Variant cases consumer activity fell much sharper. Friday, the Commerce Department reported a decline of -1.9% for December, not adjusted for inflation. With the exception of automotive sales, sales fell -2.3% contrary to the initial estimation of a +0.3% increase. November’s numbers were also revised down to +0.2% from the initial +0.3% increase. As sales figures are not adjusted for inflation, the data suggests a slow ending to what was otherwise a strong 2021 in which sales rose +16.9% from the pandemic worn 2020.
The Labor Department reported a pricing drop of -0.2% in December, contrary to their earlier projection of an increase of +0.2%. This is the first time since August of 2021 that import pricing was down and this could be attributed in part to import fuel prices falling -6.5% in December.
